Nicolaas Store is the building everybody photographs in San Nicolas without quite knowing why. It is the survivor of the row of shops that served the refinery town at its height, and it still carries its original frontage. Stop four minutes, look up, and you have the clearest picture of what this street looked like when the oil money was running.
