- See who is comingWhen a driver accepts, LYNX shows you the driver and their taxi. For a scheduled ride, that also arrives by email, and you are reminded before the pickup.
- Ride, and get your receiptYour fare can be shown to you on the screen in the taxi during the ride, broken down so you can see how it was reached. Your driver issues a receipt you can open on your own phone.
Where LYNX works
The whole of Aruba. The island is about 32 kilometres end to end, so no journey on it is long, and LYNX covers all of it: Queen Beatrix International Airport, the Palm Beach and Eagle Beach hotel strips, Oranjestad and the cruise terminal, San Nicolas, and the beaches, restaurants and sights in between.
Airport pickups and departures
Arriving passengers can request a taxi from the terminal. Departures are the ride worth booking ahead: schedule your airport run the night before, and the confirmation and the reminder both arrive by email so an early flight does not depend on finding a car at dawn.
Hotels and resorts
Request a pickup from your hotel without going through the front desk, or book one for a dinner reservation later that evening. Hotels working with LYNX can also dispatch a taxi for a guest directly.
Beaches, restaurants and getting back
The ride most visitors forget to plan is the one home. LYNX works the same from a beach bar at eleven at night as it does from a hotel lobby at noon, and the fare is the same published tariff either way.
Who actually drives you
LYNX is a platform, not a taxi company. Every driver on LYNX is an independent Aruban taxi driver, licensed by the government of Aruba and operating their own vehicle under their own licence. LYNX does not employ them and does not own a single car.
That arrangement is the normal one in Aruba, and it is worth understanding, because it is why the fare is fixed rather than surged, and why the driver you meet is a professional who does this for a living rather than somebody in a private car. What LYNX adds is the part that was missing: a way to reach a licensed driver from your phone, see the official price before you travel, and get a receipt afterwards.
What a taxi costs in Aruba
Aruba taxis do not use meters. The government publishes an official tariff that sets a fixed price for each route, so the fare is known before you get in and does not change with traffic or demand. There is no surge pricing on the island.
Three rules cover almost every question about the price:
- The fare is per car, not per person. A family of four on a route pays what one traveller pays on the same route, up to the vehicle's normal capacity.
- It is priced by route, not by distance. The tariff lists a rate between points, so the price does not depend on the way the driver goes.
- Late nights, Sundays and public holidays carry a surcharge. It is part of the official tariff, and LYNX applies it automatically for the time you are travelling.

Book a pickup for a later time or a later day rather than requesting one now. You are emailed when a driver accepts, with their taxi details, and reminded before the pickup time. Cancelling is a tap.

If you meet a driver you would happily ride with again, save them to your favourite drivers with the heart on their page. They are kept in your saved list for the rest of your trip, so a good driver on day one is still a tap away on day six.
See your fare broken down during the ride
LYNX drivers can send the fare to the screen in the taxi, so you can read the breakdown for yourself while you travel instead of being told a number at the end. Transparency about the price is the point of it.
Get a receipt
Your driver can issue you a receipt for the ride, which opens on your own phone and can be emailed to you. Useful for anybody travelling on expenses, and proof of what you paid for everybody else.
